This group reset will follow the spring equinox. During this 21-day process, we will have 3 in-person meetings - one before, one during and one after the cleanse. During these meetings, you will learn what to expect each coming week and have an opportunity to have your questions answered. The best part is you will meet others in the community embarking on the same journey. There will be a guest Ayurvedic mentor sharing her personal tips and a special participant-only private Facebook group to communicate with each other, receive support and guidance along the way. You will receive a manual with helpful tips for cleansing, a shopping list, recipes, journal suggestions to deepen the transformational process, and more.
This is being led by Denise Alejandro, Health Coach certified in Ayurvedic lifestyle and bodywork treatments and Yoga instructor specializing in Kundalini Yoga. Denise discovered Ayurveda and the healing power of Panchakarma (the complete cleansing and detoxification program from which this cleanse is derived) during her own healing crisis. She has since completed and led countless cleanses, hosts local Panchakarma retreats and takes groups to India for retreats. Her greatest joy is sharing the wisdom that has given her the freedom to take charge of her own life.
If you are feeling severely depleted, suffering from adrenal fatigue or burnout, or have an eating disorder, we don’t recommend a cleanse.
Over the 3 weeks, we will:
go on a spiritual and physical transformative journey as a community,
take a dosha quiz and discover our current state of imbalance,
create a plan for a personal cleanse that works for you including pre and post cleanse practices,
learn basics of ayurvedic cooking and food choices,
learn ways to eliminate toxins while increasing immunity/vitality and supporting digestion,
discover yoga postures, breathing techniques, and daily routines that help support our body and mind,
enjoy a sample of kitchari, an ayurvedic meal that helps kindle your digestive fire,
learn about the ayurvedic treatments available, designed to move toxins out of the body. (These can be done at any time but complement the cleanse).
There are 3 stages to the cleanse which allows you do go as gentle or deep as you would like to go.
Week 1 – Spring Cleaning – Everyone will begin here. We will be preparing the body (and home) by eliminating foods that burden the digestive system, introducing easy to digest foods and building the digestive fire (agni). We will share self-care tools you may add to daily routine that support the body’s natural detoxification.
Week 2 – The Cleanse – During this week and main part of the cleanse, your meals will consist of kitchari, ghee, mung dal soup, stewed vegetables, spiced apples and healing-detoxifying teas. If you find you are not ready to move to this level during week 2, we will discuss modifications during the weekly meeting. Options will be discussed for vegans.
Week 3 – Rejuvenation – Everyone will embark on the rejuvenation stage where we will build the body back up with gentle foods and herbs to increase your digestive fire. This is the most crucial part of the process.
